SSC new wing

Outersight has recently completed the installation of the audio visual and IT systems for the new discovery centre and migration tunnel at the Scottish Seabird Centre.

The migration flyway allows visitors to experience the sights and sounds of the incredible journeys that seabirds make every year. The environment centre shows visitors how we are affecting our environment and how we can help minimise the damage.

The new areas were designed by Contagious Design and required nine 19” LCD touchscreens with high power PCs, as well as three 26” widescreen LCD screens. Six “futurescope” were also installed to show what the world will look like if we do not reverse the damage that the human race is doing to the environment. The future scopes were based on a solid state video player and a 7” LCD screen, and were housed in a periscope type housing.

Plans for the future include installing solar and wind power generation on the roof of the new centre to reduce the dependence on fossil fuel generated electricity.

We are very pleased to have helped with this phase of the Centre’s expansion, and wish it every success in the future.
